Frequently asked questions I have triglycerides and uric acid high, how should I feed me?

Question: I have high triglycerides and uric acid are foods and what way to prepare them are best suited for a very active woman like me? Matilde (Moguer).

Answer: Uric acid is derived from the metabolism of purines, which are a part of proteins. For this reason, your dietary treatment is to reduce the consumption of foods high in purines (fatty meats, viscera, patés, foie gras, wines, cubes, yeast) as well as follow a diet low in fat and control the intake of alcohol and caffeine.

To decrease triglyceride levels it is necessary to limit the intake of saturated fats, present in animal products as butter, fat meats, dairy products whole and in some foods of plant origin as the coconut and oil palm, often used in bakery and pastry industry. It is also recommended to delete all kinds of sugary and alcoholic beverages.
It is preferable to select lean meats and consume fish at least 3 times a week, as it is rich in omega 3 fatty acids.

It is also advisable to increase the consumption of fruits and vegetables cooked dietary form without adding chorizo, bacon or other sausages, cereals and their derivatives (bread, rice, pasta).

With regard to the methods of cooking, it is best to cook food grilled, steamed, baked, roasted and boiled.
Continuous practicing physical exercise, is a healthy habit that will help you to prevent cardiovascular diseases and stay in shape.
